Dr. Kathryn Schmitz, Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and principal investigator of the Physical Activity and Lymphedema Trial (PAL) is seeking to hire one or two certified lymphatic therapists in the Philadelphiaarea for up to 20 hours per week to work on her ongoing NIH funded clinical trial. This ongoing trial, called WISER Survivor, is recruiting 555 overweight breast cancer survivors with lymphedema. The participants will be randomized to weight loss, exercise, both, or neither and followed for lymphedema outcomes and breast cancer recurrence biomarkers. All participants will be fitted with Jobst compression garments for the trial. The work will involve screening women with lymphedema symptoms, lymphedema evaluations, treating flare-ups, and garment fittings.
